Conference Preview

The conference will consist of plenary sessions, oral and poster presentation and exhibitions. World famous scientists will be invited to give keynote lecturers. Instrument manufacturers are invited to show case their products and services at the conference. A two-day pre-conference workshop for students and young scientists will be held before the conference. Social program for accompanying person will be organized and will include visits to tourist attraction sites.

Who should attend

Analytical chemists' scientists, academics, government and industry representatives from around the world will be interested in the Conference. All fundamental and applied research involving Analytical Chemistry methods and instruments of analysis are eligible for participation in the conference. The participants in the conference are challenged to stimulate governmental funding for science and technology in Africa through the outputs, and the social and economic relevance of their conference communications.


Workshops

A two-day pre-conference workshop for students and young scientists will be held prior to the conference. All students registered for the conference and with accepted abstracts and sponsored hotel accommodation will be expected to attend the following workshops:  

Sample Preparation and Solid-Phase Extraction (SPE): Dr Ron Majors, Agilent Technologies

How to get published in scientific journals: Prof  Jorge Gardea-Torresdey (Assoc Editor, Environmental Science & Technology)
Writing (manuscripts & grants) and mentoring sessions: Prof. Jeanne Pemberton (Associate Editor of Anal Chem)

The Workshops will take place on 7 - 8th July 2012
